Tulisa trial adjourned until July

Tulisa Contostavlos will have to wait until July to discover the outcome of her trial over claims she assaulted a blogger at the V Festival.

The former N-Dubz singer, 25, denies attacking writer Savvas Morgan in Chelmsford, Essex, last August.

A trial at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court was due to end, but Judge Angus Hamilton adjourned proceedings so that further witnesses can be called.

"I am anxious this does not go on any longer than necessary," he said.

Ms Contostavlos is on trial with her assistant, Gareth Varey, who denies a charge of threatening behaviour.

The court had previously heard how Mr Morgan suffered swelling to his eye after the alleged assault.

He told the court Ms Contostavlos raised her fists in the air and was swinging her arms in a backstage area at the festival.

One of the outstanding issues in the trial surrounds the existence of a "lost" photograph of Mr Morgan's injuries.

Ms Contostavlos previously told the court Mr Morgan had had a "vendetta" against her since an incident in which she asked security to remove him from a VIP area of a nightclub.

She also outlined her suspicions that Mr Morgan was involved in the release of a sex tape of her online.

Det Sgt Amanda White previously told the court that stars who witnessed the incident, including singer and rapper Misha B, Sugababes singer Mutya Buena, singer Alexandra Burke and rapper Wretch 32, were all asked through their representatives to give statements but none had been received.

Ms Contostavlos and Mr Varey, 28, both of Friern Barnet, north London, are on bail.

Judge Hamilton said there would now be no verdict until at least 2 July.
