Iraq's interior ministry has said that a woman detained in Lebanon is not the wife of the Islamic State (IS) leader.
In a statement the ministry said Saja al-Duleimi is the sister of Omar al-Duleimi who is sentenced to death for bombings in Basra and al-Bathaa.
A woman and her son were detained 10 days ago by military intelligence after entering Lebanon with forged papers.
Unofficially, Lebanon says it still thinks that Saja al-Duleimi is al-Baghdadi's wife.
A source in the Lebanese army has told the BBC it believes the woman is a current or former wife of al-Baghdadi, despite the denial issued by the Iraqi government.
IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's wives are believed to be Asma Fawzi Mohammad al-Duleimi and Isra Mahal al-Qaisi, the Iraqi statement says.
On Tuesday, Lebanese officials described Saja al-Dulaimi as an Iraqi who had been living in Syria.
A woman with that name was detained by the Syrian authorities before being freed in March as part of a prisoner exchange with al-Qaeda's local affiliate, the al-Nusra Front.
The exchange saw al-Nusra hand over a group of abducted Greek Orthodox nuns in return for the release of 150 women held by Syria.
Saja al-Duleimi's father is a member of al-Qaeda and an active member of al-Nusra, according to the Iraqi government.
Iraq also says her sister is Duaa Abdul-Hamid al-Duleimi, who is also detained in Iraq for attempting to blow herself up.
