Ulster Bank creates 350 Belfast jobs

Ulster Bank is creating 350 jobs at its Belfast call centre.

The new staff will deal with calls from customers of sister companies RBS and Nat West, as well as Ulster Bank customers across the island of Ireland.

Ulster Bank's Northern Ireland operations have recently become more integrated with the wider RBS operations in the UK.

The company is the largest of the four Northern Ireland banks.

However, in recent years Ulster Bank has cut staff and branches as a result of the financial crash.

Ellvena Graham, head of Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland, said she was "delighted" about the announcement.

"Across RBS, Natwest and Ulster Bank, we have set ourselves an ambition to become number one for customer service and I am delighted that Northern Ireland will play a strategic role in delivering this ambition," she said.

"This decision by RBS to locate these jobs in the Belfast contact centre is a welcome recognition of the excellent standards that have been set by the Ulster Bank team in Danesfort."

The company said it is investing £300,000 in additional office space to accommodate the new staff.
