Footballer Nile Ranger is being questioned by police in connection with an assault on a woman and criminal damage to flats in Swindon.
Wiltshire Police said the building's management company handed over CCTV showing a man "punching a female" and "kicking and smashing a door and lift".
The incident happened at Gordon Gardens at about 04:00 BST on 13 April.
Swindon Town player Mr Ranger will be questioned at Gablecross police station, a spokesman said.
The club have asked the player to attend a disciplinary hearing on Thursday, BBC Wiltshire reported.
Mr Ranger previously played for Newcastle United before leaving for Swindon last summer.
